Information on the languages of the world is available in a huge number of resources. These resources are very diverse in nature, ranging from datasets in digital form up via raw recordings in language archives up to various books and journal articles that describe, list, and cite information on particular languages. Making use of these diverse resources in linguistic research is difficult, not only due to the huge variation in structure, but also since we lack a general catalog that would assemble general meta information on the information available for particular languages in these resources. While some linguistic bibliographies exist, there is no bibliography at the moment that would consistently link information on individual language varieties to individual linguistic resources. In the talk, I will outline some rudimentary and preliminary ideas how such a resource could be constructed, pointing both to practical and theoretical issues.
